If you find you’re fascinated with the exquisite and delicate creations of bonsai, and you’ve wondered whether you’d like to try it, the library’s program will fit the bill. Geoffrey is the president of the Bonsai Society of Greater Hartford. He took his first bonsai lesson in the summer of 2000. In 2010 he won the Joshua Roth Best New Talent award, a national competition in which contestants must create a bonsai from nursery stock in eight hours. Holmes recently started a bonsai business, Bonsai Berkshire, which complements his other profession as a furniture maker.
