Step into the past at an outdoor living history demonstration including civilian life, camp life, and weapon demonstrations by members of Ye Olde Lebanon Towne Militia. In character and outfitted with period-accurate clothing, wares, and tools, re-enactors will transform Simsbury Historical Society’s grounds into a Revolutionary War militia encampment. Engage with the re-enactors and imagine life in 1776!&nbsp;Hours 10 am - 4 pm. Free parking at 10 Phelps Lane and in nearby public parking lots along Iron Horse Blvd.

Tee up for a great cause this spring! Gifts of Love invites the community to its annual Golf Tournament on Monday, May 18 at the beautiful Golf Club of Avon.
This fun-filled day brings together local supporters for 18 holes of golf, contests, raffles, auctions, and more—all to benefit families in need across the Greater Hartford area.
Proceeds from the tournament help Gifts of Love provide food, clothing, and essential support to hundreds of local families each week, including distributing over 375 backpacks filled with nutritious, kid-friendly meals.
Golfers of all skill levels are welcome. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses looking to make a meaningful impact in the community.

The Friends of the Simsbury Public Library will hold their 2026 Spring Author Luncheon on Tuesday, May 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, CT.They will host New York Times bestselling author, Patti Callahan Henry, who will discuss her latest historical mystery novel, The Story She Left Behind, an engaging, lyrical tale based on a real, unsolved literary mystery of author Barbara Newhall Follett. The cost is $45 per person and includes an entree, bread basket, delicious dessert, and lemonade/ice tea, tea/coffee (cash bar). Books will be available for purchase and autographing. This is a popular event with limited seating so get your reservations in early! Please RSVP by April 30th.
