“PJ Story Time: Scarecrows” at Canton Public Library

Canton Public Library’s first PJ Story Time for May is “Scarecrows.”  Don your  cozy PJ’s and join us on Thursday, May 10.  The story time will be led by Ms. Betsy.

One of the stories to be read is Margaret Wise Brown’s The Little Scarecrow Boy.  Imagine a coming-of-age tale for a young scarecrow who aspires to follow his father in the business of scaring crows.  His eagerness to begin the job before having achieved the necessary degree of fierceness almost leads to trouble.  The illustrations by David Diaz capture beautifully the six fierce faces that the young scarecrow must have as he builds his repertoire of ferocity and seeks his father’s approval.
