Summer Reading Registration at Canton Public Library

On Monday, June 11, registration begins for Canton Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.  For Canton residents, registration begins for one-time programs and the program series that require it, including Book Buddies and Readers’ Theater.  (You can register in person, by phone or by email.  Priority is given to people who show up in person.)  Registration opens up for everyone, regardless of place of residence, on Monday, June 18 at 10 a.m.

The theme for this year’s summer reading program at Canton Public Library is “The Great Geek Summer of 2012,” which features many of our children’s obsessions and passions.  Watch for programs that highlight themes such as Star Wars and Glee, to name only two.

Again this summer, teens will have a chance to volunteer for the very popular Book Buddies program.  Teen volunteers, ages 13 and up, may fill out applications beginning in May and continuing through early June.  After June 8, volunteer positions may be limited, so teens are urged to apply early.

Canton Public Library is at 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton.  For information:  (860) 693-5800 or www.cantonpubliclibrary.org
