The Kerry Boys To Conclude Canton Public Library’s Annual Winter Music Series

Canton Public Library concludes its annual Winter Music Series on Sunday, March 18 with a performance by The Kerry Boys, two Irish balladeers.  The concert begins at 2:00 PM.

The Kerry Boys are Mark James, who is from County Kerry, Ireland, and Pierce Campbell.  Campbell was the Connecticut State Troubadour for 2007 and 2008.  The two balladeers have been performing together for over 20 years and have appeared widely throughout the Northeast and New York.  Their concerts are high-energy and engaging, with the audience clapping and singing along to their extensive repertoire of traditional and original songs.  They have appeared at fairs and festivals, town concerts and celebrations, and, of course, local Irish clubs and pubs.

The Kerry Boys had their start at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA, where one of the managers, an Irishman himself, dubbed them “the Kerry boys.”  The name has stuck and their fame has spread.  The duo has released three CD’s: KB3 in 2006, Live in the Studio in 2003, and The Kerry Boys in 1997.

No doubt the concert will prove to be a rousing good time and a family favorite for all, whether Irish or not.
