Former Canton Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault
He is accused of engaging in an "inappropriate sexual relationship" with a student, according to a police report.

CANTON, CT — A former teacher at Canton High School was charged Tuesday with two counts of sexual assault on a warrant Tuesday, in connection with what a police report called an "inappropriate sexual relationship" with a student.
Lindsey Barth, an Avon resident, was charged with second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree sexual assault. He was released on a court-set $100,000 non-surety bond, and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court Aug. 21.
The police report stated the Canton Police Department received a complaint about the alleged relationship on June 25 and immediately launched an investigation.

Barth was a high school teacher at the time, but was placed on administrative leave on July 3. He resigned from the school system on Aug. 3.
