Gifts for Canton; Buy Two - Donate One!

Your spouse is diagnosed with an end stage disease, you lost your $100,000 a year job, your child was born with a disability that has run your funds dry or you have a seasonal job.  These are just a few reasons why the Gifts for Canton first created in the mid 1990’s by the Chamber of Commerce with Dr. CharlesBonelli being the first collection location.

Gifts for Canton is a non-profit program that benefits all Canton residents, individuals’ and entire families.  It is vitally important that teenagers, men, and woman not be forgotten.  The best and most convenient way to donate to this extremely needy group is to give money for gift cards.  Please make checks payable to Gifts for Canton, and mail to:   Canton Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 704, Canton, CT 06019.  Cash donations must be received by December 2, 2013.

Also consider donating a new, unwrapped toy, book(s), gift certificates, household items, and or food.  AGAIN, let us not forget to concentrate on filling those adult and teen table(s) with gloves, housewares, tools for men (and woman), bathroom accessories, towels, blankets or maybe sheets?  These are just a few suggestions.

Additional suggestions may include service gift certificates such as an oil change, snow plowing, haircuts, or even a sticker to the transfer station.  All of these items are most likely “wants” for both individual and families alike, because needs at this point are food and shelter.

There are thirty-one (31) Collection Points this year!  See photo for more detail on specific locations.  Coin jars are at various locations as well.

Let’s show our neighbors how much we care about them this year!  Let’s spoil them.  The next time you pick yourself up a “wanted” item – Buy Two and Donate One!

“This is our third year with the Gifts for Canton sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.  My three teenage boys are real grateful for whatever they get and no longer ask for anything specific.  I know they have wants just like every teenager, but they understand our financial situation. It breaks MY HEART I cannot provide for them but am overwhelmed with the generosity of my neighbors.” – A Canton Mom
She suggested gift certificates to Best Buy (for any electronics), fishing, hunting, sports affiliated for men and for woman she would love to see kitchen utensils – such as hand mixers, silverware, wisps, meat thermometers.  Don’t forget  perfume, and jewelry.
