Key Canton Road/Intersection Closed Today For Construction

CANTON, CT — Motorists should expect traffic disruptions in Canton on Wednesday as the intersection of East Hill Road and Dowd Avenue closes for construction.

According to the Canton Police Department, the intersection will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 8.

During the closure, there will be no through access to the intersection from:

Old Canton Road
East Hill Road
Simonds Avenue

Police said Mills Pond Recreation Area will remain accessible via Route 44.

Drivers are encouraged to plan, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes to avoid delays.

The department also advised that construction in the area is expected to continue, and additional temporary road closures may be necessary in the coming days.

Officials thanked residents and motorists for their patience during the work.
