Kindergarten Registration In Canton, What You Need To Know

CANTON, CT — School officials are planning for the kindergarten class of 2026–27 at Cherry Brook Primary School, and they're urging parents to get their eligible children registered.

"We know that the start of a child’s school journey is an important milestone, and we want to make the registration process as clear and supportive as possible for families," wrote the Canton School System in a release.

In order to be automatically eligible for kindergarten in the 2026 - 27 school year, children must turn 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2021.

If your child was born on or before Sept. 1, 2021, parents are invited to begin the registration process now:

• Complete the online information form at: bit.ly/CBPSKN26-27 by Friday, Feb. 13. Families who complete the form will receive future communications about registration and next steps.

• Eligible students are strongly encouraged to participate in the Cherry Brook Kindergarten Screening, which will take place in late April.

• Plan to attend the Kindergarten Parent Orientation on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. at Cherry Brook Primary School. This meeting will share helpful information about Kindergarten readiness, what to expect in Kindergarten, and the screening process.
