At 7:00 pm, there will be a brief meeting opened by State Representative Timothy Bowles. An award will be presented to former State Representative Joel Gordes for his work on our dangerously vulnerable electric grid.

A Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Brian Keane, whose Washington-based nonprofit includes clients such as major utility companies, state agencies, the federal government and private foundations. SmartPower has won awards from the EPA, the US Department of Energy, Service Industry Advertising, Connecticut’s DEEP, and was instrumental in initiating the Connecticut Solarize program. Keane has been recognized as one of Connecticut’s “outstanding 40 under 40” and is a regular panelist on the White House Chronicle. SmartPower has been selected as the best non-profit marketing firm in the United States by Wealth and Management.

A special free pre-event will be offered from 5:00 to 6:00 pm for anyone interested in marketing a nonprofit. Free copies of “Green Is Good” will be available after the main presentation. The evening is open to the public and will conclude with songs by well-known musician Connor Millican of Wise Old Moon.
