Teddy Williams, a 6-year-old Norfolk Terrier, along with her owner Chris, came to Canton Town Hall Friday morning to collect the town's Top Dog prize pack.
All residents who licensed or renewed their dogs in June were entered in the drawing, for which the winner received a #1 tag and a basket of goodies.
Town Clerk Linda Smith said 542 dogs were licensed in June. Teddy was number 275. In all about 1,200 dogs in Canton are licensed and licensing is done year round. See the town's web site for details.

Of the licensing fee, $1 stays in Canton to support the town's animal control program and the rest goes to population control efforts through the state Department of Agriculture.
Chris Williams said the town's awareness effort was impressive.

"I think it's a great idea," she said. "Having all the stuff online is really helpful."
