Miller Foods/Oma's Pride the setting for Woofstock 2014
Woofstock 2014: 1 Day of Peace, Love & Pooches is a dog-themed event benefiting the Simsbury-based Rob Branham Foundation.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, gather up the family – especially canine members of the household – for a fun-filled event called Woofstock 2014: 1 Day of Peace, Love & Pooches. The event, a benefit for the Simsbury-based Rob Branham Foundation, will take place at Miller Foods, Home of Oma’s Pride, 308 Arch Road, Avon, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.
Miller Foods, also the home of Oma’s Pride raw pet food and O’Paws freeze-dried pet food and treats, is co-sponsoring the event along with Clear Channel Radio. The celebrity host is Renee DiNino from The River 105.9 FM. Admission is free and dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
Woofstock is an annual celebration of the love pets bring to human lives. It features fun dog-themed activities, pet-themed vendor booths, product giveaways, pet adoptions, and live demonstrations, including police K9 training.
The event also brings awareness for The Rob Branham Foundation and the man it was named for, the late Rob Branham, a radio personality who loved his family, running, and dogs.
The foundation is a small, non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and services to patients and families fighting leukemia and other blood-related diseases. The goal is to help them cope with the “extraneous” stresses more easily, so they can focus their attention on the patient’s treatment and healing.
