Missing Dog Sought After Fleeing Canton Fire: CPD
Police seek the public's help in finding the dog, which escaped a Christmas Eve inferno through an open door, but it is still missing.

CANTON, CT — Local police are asking for the public's help in locating a dog missing since it fled a fire on East Mountain Road Christmas Eve.
According to the Canton Police Department, the family is asking for the safe return of their 25-pound white/brown Bernedoodle.
Police said the pooch was able to flee the fire by escaping through an open door.

The structure fire damaged a home on East Mountain Road, which was closed to traffic between Cherrybrook Road and East Hill Road on Sunday.
As of Tuesday morning, there was no update on whether the dog was found.

A person responding to the CPD Facebook post on the matter indicated the dog was last seen running on East Mountain Road in the area of East Hill Road.
Anyone who has seen the dog or knows of its whereabouts is asked to contact the Canton Police Department at 860-693-0221.
