More than 600 people came to the Wednesday to donate items for "Give a Gift, Get a Gift."
The drive benefited "We Are The Children," a yearly effort by Gary Craig and others at 96.5 TIC FM to collect toys for underprivileged kids.
"Over 600 people came with bags full," said Shoppes general manager Denise Robidoux. "They were so generous."

She also said many families came with children to teach them the importance of giving back.
For the event, each contributor was rewarded with a $20 gift card. The radio station also held giveaways and live feeds with personality Gina J.

Several more holiday events are planned at the Shoppes, including breakfasts with Santa Dec. 10 and 11 and a Stock the Cruiser event Dec. 10.
