New Canton First Selectman Delivers Message To Residents
The newly elected Canton first selectman has been sworn in and, recently, wished his predecessor well and promised accessibility.

CANTON, CT — The town's new first selectman, Republican Kevin Witkos, had kind words for his predecessor and the community in his first official message to residents.
Witkos, elected last month in an open election following the retirement of Democrat Robert Bessel, is officially sworn in as the Town of Canton's elected chief executive.
The former state senator said his term leading Canton will mirror his campaign platform.

" I want to thank all of you who supported me in the November election. Those of you who did not support me, I will be working extremely hard to earn your trust over these next four years," Witkos wrote.
"Now that the election is behind us, it’s time to govern as one body, to put forth our best effort in keeping Canton the unique small town that it is."

Eventually, Witkos will host regular office hours where folks can drop and and, simply, discuss the issues of the day.
