Popular Canton Deli/Market To Close For Several Weeks

The well-known business is expected to reopen in the spring after a major renovation.

CANTON, CT — A popular local fook market will close for several weeks later this month, but it will reopen in the spring after renovations.

TheLaSalle Market & Deli in Canton announced Sunday, Feb. 8, that it will temporarily close at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, for renovations, with plans to reopen in April 2026.

Before closing, however, the business, located at 104 Main St., Collinsville, will host a farewell event on Sunday, March 1, from 2 to 6 p.m. The event is ticketed, with admission priced at $10 and availability limited.

According to the announcement, the ticket includes buffet-style pizza and sandwiches and one nonalcoholic beverage.

Alcohol and desserts will be offered at 50 percent off during the event.

The owners said the closure is intended to allow for updates to the market and deli.

No additional details about the renovation plans or construction timeline were released.

LaSalle Market & Deli also highlighted its ongoing partnership with CW Resources, a New Britain-based nonprofit that provides vocational rehabilitation resources to disadvantaged clients.

LaSalle said customer purchases also help support Meals on Wheels programs across Connecticut and create job opportunities for people with disabilities.
