Renbrook School to Welcome NYT Bestselling Author Jamie Ford

Tuesday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m. the Renbrook School Author Series welcomes NYT bestselling author Jamie Ford for a book talk and signing.

WEST HARTFORD, CT – On Tuesday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m. the Renbrook School Parent Association Author Series will welcome NYT bestselling author Jamie Ford to discuss his novel Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet at Renbrook School in West Hartford. The event is free and open to the public with rsvp at http://www.renbrook.org/ford

In the main characters, Henry and Keiko, Jamie Ford has created an unforgettable duo whose story teaches us of the power of forgiveness and the human heart.

His debut novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet has sold more than 1 million copies in 34 languages, and spent two years on the New York Times bestseller list. In 2010, Ford won the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature. He is the great grandson of Nevada mining pioneer Min Chung, who immigrated from China to San Francisco in 1865. “Renbrook’s Parent Association enriches our school community in many ways throughout the year. One time each year, though, their generosity allows us to extend an invitation to local residents to join us for an author talk and book signing. On April 12 we will welcome Jamie Ford to Renbrook, and hope the public will enjoy this opportunity to hear from a NYT best selling author about his debut novel,” says Renbrook Head of School Scott Hutchinson.

Trinity College Assistant Professor of Language and Culture Studies and International Studies, Yipeng Shen, Ph.D. will moderate the event which will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Shen has studied in China, Singapore and the United States. In his teaching, he seeks to bring awareness of and appreciation for cultural diversity to all students.

The event, held at Renbrook School, will include book signing by the author. Mr. Ford is available for interviews in advance. Wine and light refreshments will be served.
