Senator Witkos and Canton Dignitaries to 'Help Bag Hunger'

For September's National Hunger Action Month, ShopRite of Canton is hosting 'Help Bag Hunger' to raise funds for local food pantries.

What: In honor of September’s National Hunger Action Month, Joseph Family Markets (owner and operator of the ShopRites in West Hartford and Canton) is hosting a “Help Bag Hunger” event to raise awareness and funds to benefit local food pantries in Canton. Local dignitaries, including Representative Tim LeGeyt, Senator Kevin Witkos, Executive Director of Gifts of Love Diana Goode and other Canton officials will serve as honorary grocery baggers throughout the day to bring greater visibility to the cause.

Where: ShopRite of Canton, 110 Albany Turnpike, Canton

When: Tuesday, September 27th from 2-4 PM

Why: With one in seven Connecticut households unable to afford the food they need,ShopRite Partners In Caring helps to raise awareness and inspire action within local communities through hunger-fighting initiatives. Since the company’s inception in 2010, Joseph Family Markets has contributed over $151,000 to the local fight against hunger.
