Three Area Teams Advance in Girls Basketball Tournaments

Canton moves into the Class S quarterfinal round thanks to an easy victory over Windham.

Five teams from the north-central Connecticut area played second-round games in the CIAC girls basketball tournaments Friday, with three emerging victorious.

Canton advanced to the Class S quarterfinals with a 52-32 victory over Windham, while Windsor Locks (Class S) and Northwest Catholic (Class L) also won their second-round matchups.

Farmington went down to defeat in Class L, as did East Windsor in Class S.
