Town of Canton Seeks Poet Laureate & Town Historian
Deadline to apply is this Thursday, Oct. 16.
The Canton Board of Selectman is seeking residents who wish to serve in the Town’s newly created positions of volunteer Town Historian, volunteer Deputy Town Historian and volunteer Poet Laureate.
The appointment of the positions were at the request of the Canton Main Street organization. Those appointed will promote Canton’s history, spoken word, writing and the arts in Canton. Residents appointed to the positions will serve for a term of four years. They will report to the Director of the Canton Public Library and will serve voluntarily without compensation.
Applicants for the positions must be residents of Canton.

The application, along with a copy of the policies that created the positions Town Historian and Deputy Town Historian Policy - Poet Laureate Policy can be found on the Town website: www.townofcantonct.org, under the Government Section of the website.
The applications deadline is Thursday, Oct. 16 at 4:30 p.m. Applications may be sent to: The Town of Canton, Attention: Robert H. Skinner, CAO, 4 Market Street, Collinsville, CT 06022.
