Town Meeting to Discuss Payment to Former Comp Carrier
$25,839.62 assessment goes before residents.

Wednesday night the town will hold a Special Town meeting to decide whether to approve a $25,839.62 payment to the town’s former Worker’s Compensation carrier.
The payment is this year’s installment of "$120,000 assessment levied by the Municipal Interlocal Risk Management Agency, the town’s Worker’s Compensation insurer for fiscal years 2003-04 and 2004-05."
Some 60 towns that contracted with MIRMA were hit with a $10 million assessment when the insurer fell short of its projected revenue, town officials said. The amount was later reduced to $8.8 million
