Town Says Farewell to Michele Clark
Assistant town clerk moving out of state after nearly 8 years on the job.
Assistant Town Clerk Michele Clark said goodbye to her fellow employees Friday after nearly eight years on the job.
"I'm going to miss it," she said. "I love this place."
Clark worked in Canton for seven years, eight months and was hired when Linda Smith moved from the assistant post to her current job as town clerk. Prior to the Canton job, Clark spent four years as assistant town clerk in Burlington.

Clark is moving to Georgia with her family. She and her husband John have two children, Kyle and Lindsey and a granddaughter Adryanna.
With her husband and father, Douglas Rockafellow, both having spent time in the Air Force, Clark has lived in numerous locales including New York, Illinois, California, Georgia and Okinawa, Japan.

And now as she heads down to Columbus, GA many of her co-workers said they would miss her greatly.
Chief Administrative Officer Robert Skinner called her a "great asset" in the town clerk's office.
"She will be missed greatly," he said.
"She's been a great help to me in this office," said town clerk Linda Smith. "I know that I'll miss her as well as all the other employees in town hall. I wish her and her family success and happiness down in Georgia."
