Turn Sap To Sweetness At Canton Nature Center Program
The Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton Sunday is hosting a special program on maple sugaring on Sunday afternoon.
CANTON, CT — Depending on the type of trees in your yard, something sweet just might be flowing.
And this Sunday, the Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton will help you tap into that potentially tasty resource.
The center, located at 70 Gracey Road, Canton, is hosting a program on Sunday afternoon, March 2, called "Maple Sugaring in Your Own Backyard."

The program is an annual demonstration that teaches guests how to make maple syrup "the easy way."
The so-called "easy way" is the process of collecting watery, maple sap from maple trees and evaporating much of the water, with sweet, maple syrup being what is left.

"We’ll cover the entire process from identifying the tree to the best part – tasting the final product," wrote Roaring Brook in an announcement.
The cost of the program, which is from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, is $11 each / $36 for a family of four.
The snow date is March 9 from 2 to 3 p.m.
