Valentine's Day Specials at Lisa's Crown and Hammer

Lisa’s Crown & Hammer Restaurant & Pub in the historic Collinsville train depot, under new ownership and management, will offer a three-course prix fixe menu in addition to its regular menu and nightly specials on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14 from 5 to 11 p.m. The cost is $28 per person plus sales tax and gratuity.

First course choices: Tarte Fine Aux Tomatoes, a flaky pastry with fresh tomato slices and arugula pesto; Turkey Meatloaf Crostini, honey and spinach ricotta with BBQ turkey meatloaf on a duck fat toasted crouton; Mesclun Salad, mesclun greens and house-made balsamic vinaigrette; or soup of the day.

Main course selections: Chicken Parmesan, chicken breast with fresh mozzarella and Italian buccatini; Petite Steak Au Poivre, an 8-oz. New York strip with cognac cream sauce and gratin of sweet potatoes; or Salmon Zinfandel, salmon braised in red wine demi with mushrooms, pearl onions, and Nodine’s bacon.

Dessert choices: Chocolate Lava Cake with melted chocolate and fresh whipped cream; Tiramisu, espresso and mascarpone married over lady fingers; or Tarte Aux Pommes Chaud, a buttery flaky crust with sliced apples and vanilla ice cream, a dessert for two.

Three Valentine’s Day cocktail specials will be sold in addition to the regular cash bar: The Aviation, a pre-Prohibition classic of gin and creme de violette liqueur, garnished with a cherry, $8; The Hot-Pink Handgun, made with cognac, lemon juice, amaretto and egg whites shaken with frozen raspberries and served straight up, $9; and The Room Key, an exotic concoction of ginger and lemon shaken with rum and topped with a fiery red angostura bitters foam, $7.
