Vegan 101: Learn a Plant-Based Lifestyle at Canton Library Class

Free Program Will Be Offered Saturday, May 12, at 1 p.m.

Are you curious about a vegan lifestyle? On Saturday, May 12, at 1:00 p.m., come to the Canton Public Library for "Vegan 101: Introduction to a Whole-Food, Plant Based Diet and Lifestyle." This class will teach you the basics of a whole-food, plant-based diet and how to make quick and easy meals that are tasty and healthy. You will learn where to get protein, calcium, and iron, how to stock your pantry, recipe ideas, food substitutions, and which equipment helps make the transition an adventure. Bring your questions and curiosity. Food samples will be offered.

Presenter Mary Lawrence is a vegan chef, author and wellness educator with Well on Wheels. She combines techniques for effective communication with compassionate cuisine to make the transition to a vegan lifestyle delicious and fun. In addition to a Master’s degree in Communications, she holds a certificate in plant-based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, and one in nutrition and wellness consulting from the American Fitness Professionals Association. The program is free, although registration is required.
