On November 4th, I urge Canton voters to vote in favor of the new Canton garage. The proposal makes financial sense, is in the best long-term interests of the town, and helps protect our riverfront for increased recreation, tourism, and beauty. This is a win-win. Moreover, it was carefully researched, vetted, and endorsed by numerous town agencies. Significantly, it is endorsed by both the Republican and Democratic Town Committees. It is heartening that all these leaders would pull together, in non-partisan unity, on a project for the betterment of the town. I hope people won’t be fooled by the last-minute distraction put forth anonymously via Senator Witkos – the “alternate” site was excluded as unworkable long ago, and, while the Collinsville Fire Station does need attention, it is lower on the town’s priority list than the garage. We need to focus on the urgent needs of the town, and the garage tops the list. Please vote YES for the town garage.
