WATCH: Canton Library's Baby Chicks Poke Through Their Shells

The four newest additions to the library team live in the children's department and they're named after popular Sesame Street characters.

CANTON, CT — If you happen to hear chirping at the Canton Public Library, there's no need to shush anyone.

It's just the newest addition to the library's children's department.

The library this week reports that four baby chicks hatched in the library on Wednesday, poking through their egg shells within an incubator on site.

Now living inside a cage in the children's department, the chicks are named after the beloved Sesame Street characters "Abby Cadabby," "Big Bird," "Elmo," and "Grover."

This week, the library released plenty of images and videos of the chicks hatching, as well as the chicks doing chick things.

There's even a "Chick Cam" at the library.

Guests are invited to say "hello" and welcome the young birds in the children's room at the library during regular library hours.
