Amazon Package Stolen From Home In Cheshire: Police

A driver followed the delivery truck and stole the package from a home after it was delivered, according to police.

CHESHIRE, CT — A package delivered by Amazon was recently stolen from a home in Cheshire, according to police.

Police said a vehicle was seen following the delivery truck and a person got out of the vehicle and took the package after it was delivered.

Police are advising residents of the theft as the popularity of online shopping and free deliveries increases, so does the opportunity for would be criminals.

Police advise residents to consider the following:

Arrange for the delivery at a time when someone will be home at the residence and expecting the delivery.

Arrange for the delivery to your place of employment, if allowable within your individual workplace rules and regulations.

Coordinate with neighbors, if possible, to have deliveries not left outside for prolonged periods of time.

“Together, we can minimize the opportunities for these criminals,” police wrote in a news release.
