The Cheshire Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 40th season and America's 250th anniversary

The Cheshire Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Hilarie Clark Moore, celebrates its 40th season and America's 250th anniversary on Friday May 8th. The concert will be held at St Peters Church in Cheshire. The concert highlights American composers in honor of our nation's 250th anniversary. The works performed tonight celebrate our country’s history, people, and cultures.

The orchestra will be performing Festival Overture on “The Star Spangled Banner” by Dudley Buck, In Memoriam by William Grant Still, American Salute by Morton Gould, Fiddle Faddle by Leroy Anderson, Dances in the Canebrakes by Florence Price, Summon the Heroes by John Williams, Sound of Music by Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein, II, Lyric for Strings by George Walker, Overture to “Jeanne” by Hilarie Clark Moore, and Selections from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein.

St. Peter’s Church is located at 59 Main Street Cheshire CT. The concert will start at 7:00pm. Tickets will be sold at the door. Checks, cash or Paypal will be accepted. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and free for children age 5 and under.
