CHESHIRE, CT — The Cheshire softball team won its 13th straight game to open the season with a 13-0 victory over Hamden last Friday at Cheshire High School.
Callan Fleming and Lyla Blair each hit home runs for the Rams, while Jenica Matos pitched a one-hitter while striking out 14, according to GameTimeCT.
Cheshire, the top-ranked team in the GameTimeCT Top 10 poll, continued its winning ways with wins over Mercy, 5-0, on Monday, and Nonnewaug, 3-0, on Thursday.
Matos turned in another dominant performance in the win over Mercy, finishing with 11 strikeouts while allowing three hits.
The Rams will be back in action on Friday, May 8, with a game against Lauralton Hall at 4 p.m. at Cheshire High School.
