CHESHIRE, CT — A Cheshire man is accused of possessing child sexual abuse material, according to police.
Cheshire police detectives began investigating on June 19 after they were notified by the Connecticut State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce of a cybertip they received from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
The cybertip explained that "files of suspected child pornography were uploaded from a Cheshire residence," according to police.
"Cheshire Police Detective Sam DeCapua began investigating the case with assistance from the CSP ICAC Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which included obtaining subpoenas and search warrants for electronic information and data," police wrote in a news release.
The resulting information led to a search-and-seizure warrant for a home in Cheshire, according to police.
Cheshire detectives executed the warrant on Friday, Aug. 14, with assistance from Connecticut State Police and Homeland Security Investigations, and conducted on-scene interviews.
Based on the evidence obtained, police said 71-year-old John Zelisko was arrested on a charge of second-degree possession of child sexual abuse material.
Zelisko was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
The case remains under investigation, according to police.

"The investigation into cases of this nature are not taken lightly and Cheshire Police will continue to work with our law enforcement partner to bring offenders to justice."
