📰 News we're reading

• Downed Tree Closes Part Of Trail In Cheshire (patch.com) — Cheshire residents who use the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail should steer clear of the stretch between West Main Street and Jarvis Street, where a large fallen tree has forced a temporary closure. Public Works crews are working to clear the obstruction, and officials urge people to avoid the area until it's reopened for safe use.

• Home With 'Warm And Inviting Atmosphere' Hits The Market In Cheshire (patch.com) — House hunters in Cheshire may be interested in a newly listed four-bedroom Center Hall Colonial on Meadow Brook Place, offering over 2,300 square feet of living space. The home, priced at $699,900, features hardwood floors, abundant natural light, and an updated eat-in kitchen with granite counters and a center island in a quiet cul-de-sac neighborhood.

• Old Meriden-Wallingford Hospital to be torn down for new elementary school (wfsb.com) — A long-vacant former Meriden-Wallingford Hospital will be demolished to build a new Casimir Pulaski Elementary School, with state funding limiting Meriden's share to about $15 million. Cheshire residents may be interested because their state representative, Jack Fazzino, helped secure the reimbursement for this major neighborhood-changing project.
