Public Meeting Set For Cheshire Multi-Modal Transportation Plan

The draft plan "provides a comprehensive framework for improving transportation throughout the Town…," according to officials.

CHESHIRE, CT — The Town of Cheshire will hold a public meeting later this month to discuss potential recommendations in the Cheshire Multi-Modal Transportation Plan.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cheshire Public Library at 104 Main Street.

The Draft Cheshire Multimodal Transportation Plan "provides a comprehensive framework for improving transportation throughout the Town and addressing the needs of all users, including motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders," according to the project's consultants. "The Plan builds on community input, existing transportation conditions, and coordination with Town staff, regional partners, and transportation stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve safety, connectivity, accessibility, and mobility."

The plan includes three primary outcomes from the planning process:

1. A summary of the Engagement activities conducted during the planning process.

2. Recommendations for Auto, Transit, Bicycle/Pedestrian, and Multimodal actions.

3. Implementation strategies.
