Como Baker will bake over 400 lbs. of assorted Italian cookies for the popular Our Lady of Mount Carmel Feast in the Town Plot section of Waterbury on July 12, 13, 14 and 15.
This is the third year Como Bakery will be baking anginettes, biscotti, ricotta, walnut balls, thumbprints and other favorite cookies for the Feast.
Founded by Mary Pisani, Como Bakery is well-known for its freshly baked Italian breads and rolls, Italian pastries and cookies.

“Starting this summer,” stated Pat Diorio, “we will have on premise baking so our daughter, pastry chef Nicole Diorio, owner of "Through the Grapevine" bakery in Morris, can bring her specialty baking to our Waterbury premises.
Como Bakery bakes cakes of every kind – including their very popular French vanilla with whipped cream and fruit filling, Tiramisu, rum cake, cannoli cake, Boston crème cake, and specialty wedding cakes.“

While Como Bakery creates what many consider “The Best Pastries in Connecticut”, their on-site La Dolce Vita Café serves a variety of freshly-prepared sandwiches on their famous breads and pannini. “Everything that we prepare,” stated Pat Diorio, “is home-made and fresh every day. We have all types of sandwiches from egg salad to chicken parmigana to mozzarella with tomato and basil and more, plus daily lunch specials.”
