The Cornerstone Church will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary September 28-30, 2012. Special events will be held throughout the weekend directly on the grounds of the church. David Wagner, who has ministered around the world and at prophetic conferences, will be returning to Cornerstone to kick off the weekend on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday morning, Pastor Jan Nel, an internationally recognized ministry leader, will join David Wagner. They will be addressing and encouraging ministry leaders within the church. At both the 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services on Sunday, Pastor Mike Brawan from Kenya will be preaching.
To conclude the weekend, an Anniversary Dinner will be held to commemorate 30 years of Cornerstone history. Pastors Howard and Linda Renker founded the church in 1982. They initially met at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall and then for several years at the Cheshire Senior Center. The present building on 1146 Waterbury Road in Cheshire was built and dedicated September 15, 1996. Pastor Eric Bucci has now pastored Cornerstone for over 10 years. Pastor Eric and his wife Sandra have three children and live in Cheshire.
“We are very excited to be celebrating this special event in the life of our church,” Pastor Eric Bucci said. “It is amazing to look back at all the wonderful things God has done at Cornerstone.” After its small beginnings in the VFW, Cornerstone now offers numerous events and community programs throughout the year. Some examples include Shine the Light Night on Halloween, Easter Egg Drop, marriage conferences, the Alpha Course, Dress a Girl Around the World and various other ministry groups.
