Boston Marathon 2016 Results: How Did Runners From Cheshire Do?

A pair of Ethiopians were crowned 2016 Boston Marathon champions, and tens of thousands more were winners Monday afternoon on Boylston Street.

Lemi Berhanu Hayle bested defending champ Lelisa Desisa in the men’s race, finishing at 2:12:45, very modest for a Boston-winning time. Desisa, also from Ethiopia, ran a 2:13:32, while a third countryman, Adhane Tsegay, clocked a 2:14:02.

For the first time since 1986, a Massachusetts native finished in the men's top 10. Zachary Hines, a South Hadley native who lives in Dallas, finished 10th with a time of 2:21:37.

Atsede Baysa of Ethiopia won the women's division at 2:29:18.

Representing Connecticut, Michael Stadolnik finished best placing 168th with a time of 2:42:02. Connecticut residents among the top 10 include: Rob Weston, 198th, William Goodman, 238, Robert Brink, 240, Michael Grant, 622, Tyler Fredsall, 776, Ryan Ford, 791, Matthew Lynch, 807, and Ryan Miller, 962.

Locally, representing Cheshire, Kristen Mellitt finished 12,020 with a time of 3:43:50, Kate Phillips finished 14,599 with a time of 3:52:26, Jennifer Robinson finished 22,662 with a time of 4:38:07, John Storto placed 14,626 in 3:52:29 and Stacy Swartz placed 14,336 in 3:51:30.
