Benefits of Outdoor Exercise Confirmed

Outdoor exercise gives added benefits.

An article from ScienceDaily, covered a systematic review carried out by a team at the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry has analyzed existing studies and concluded that there are benefits to mental and physical well-being from taking exercise in the natural environment. Their findings are published in the research journal Environmental Science and Technology on February 4th 2011.

Outdoor workouts give you the best of both worlds:  fresh air, sunshine, and being closer to nature, along with all of the benefits of vigourous physical activity (too many to mention!).  As long as the heat index and air quality allow it, take full advantage of the outdoor environment when you exercise – you’ll feel better for it.
