Is your strength training routine effective?
Is your strength training routine effective?
You can evaluate your strength improvement by periodically comparing your exercise weight loads. Generally speaking, your exercise resistance should increase about 45 percent during the first two months of training and about 15 percent during the next two months of training. After that, a 5 percent strength improvement every two months is excellent. For example, if you begin with a leg press of 100 pounds, you should be able to leg press about 145 pounds after two months of training, approximately 165 pounds after four months of training, and almost 175 pounds after six months of training.
