Maximize your toning workout by combining moves

Combining strength training exercises allows for a more intense, but shorter duration workout.

Maximize your strength training by combining moves to hit more muscle groups at the same time.  Be sure you have great form and use a lighter weight than you would normally use.  Here are some combos that work well together:

  • Wall squat with a stability ball and a dumbbell overhead press - works quads, hamstrings, glutes, shoulders and triceps.
  • Bridge on floor or stability ball with dumbbell chest fly - works hamstrings, glutes, abdominals, lower back and chest.
  • Lunge with a bicep curl - works quads, hamstrings, glutes and biceps
  • Plie squat and upright row - works inner thigh, trapezious(upper back), shoulder, biceps
  • One legged standing calf raise with overhead tricep extention - calves, triceps
