Stop Telling Kids to "Clean Their Plates."

Encourage kids to listen to their bodies hunger and fullness signals

For generations, parents have been telling kids to "clean your plate before you leave the table."  The entire family should learn to stop eating when they feel satisfied.  Let the meal end when the brain tells the stomach it is full, not when the plate is clean.
