This Weekend Take Time to Smell the Roses
An event this weekend that you won't want to miss!

Have you ever visited Elizabeth Park in Hartford? Elizabeth Park opened to the public in 1897 and is over 100 acres. It is one of Connecticut’s botanical gems. My family has spent a lot of time in the park over the years enjoying the Roses, gardens and Pond House. Visits to Elizabeth Park have been a family tradition and started when I was very young. Both my grandfather and one of my uncle’s managed the grounds for years. In addition, my Dad and my husband have grown many plants for the park over the years. There are so many events throughout the year at the park. This weekend marks Elizabeth Park’s annual Rose Weekend.
This weekend June 17th and June 18th will be filled with many activities that revolve around the Rose Gardens. The Rose Gardens are filled with over 15,000 Roses in full bloom. Be sure to bring your camera for this photo opportunity. Throughout the weekend there will be food, music, tours, horticulture talks and arts & crafts. On the way home if the gardens inspire you to add some Roses to your garden feel free to stop by Country Flower Farms Rose patio and shop some of the best varieties for your garden. www.elizabethpark.org
