Breaking News: Cheshire Prison Put Into Lockdown After Guards Were Stabbed
One of the guards was stabbed in the neck.

An inmate at the Cheshire Correctional Institution stabbed two correction officers in what was described as savage attack that sent the prison into a lockdown Thursday.
Karen Martucci, spokeswoman of the state Department of Correction said the facility was put into lockdown after the incident.
Moise Padilla, president of the prison guard union said one guard was stabbed in the neck, according to NBC Connecticut. Another guard intervened and was stabbed too.

Martucci said both guards are being treated for non-life threatening injuries and state police would investigate for external criminal charges.
