CHESHIRE, CT — Firefighters extinguished a brush fire on Mt. Sanford Road on Sunday that officials say was caused by ashes dumped on the ground.
“Residents are advised to put ashes in a metal container and douse with water,” the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department said in a post on Facebook. “Store away from home or woods. Hot embers can remain active for days!”
