The event—organized by Save the Sound, a program of the Connecticut Fund for the Environment—was held on Saturday, Sept. 21, in honor of International Coastal Cleanup Day.

Cigarette butts, construction materials, and small pieces of plastic were just a few of the types of garbage collected by Cheshire Academy students this past weekend, when they participated in a beach cleanup event at the East Haven Town Beach.
