Cheshire Athlete Named Finalist For Heart Of A Giant Award: VIDEO
Ibrahim Kamara, who survived the later stages of the Sierra Leone civil war before coming to the U.S., is one of seven finalists.

CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire Academy’s Ibrahim Kamara was recently announced as one of the seven finalists for USA Football’s Heart of a Giant Award presented by Hospital for Special Surgery & New York Giants.
Nominated based on his commitment, teamwork, will, character and dedication, Kamara survived the later stages of the Sierra Leone civil war before coming to the U.S. where he has evolved into an elite student-athlete.
As part of the program, each of the seven finalists will receive a $1,500 equipment grant for their high school’s football program, with the winner receiving an additional $3,500 equipment grant for his school.

The winner will also be honored on the field when the Giants host the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium on Dec. 17. More information on the program can be found here.
