Cheshire Company Named ‘Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer’

CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire’s Consolidated Industries has been selected as this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer,” U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced on Monday.

Consolidated Industries is a metals forging manufacturing facility that produces aluminum, steel, nickel base, and titanium components for the aerospace, defense, and power generation industry.

Its components are used in helicopters, jet engines, fixed-wing aircraft, and military hardware for companies like Sikorsky, UTC Aerospace Systems, Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman. Specifically, the company manufactures components for Sikorsky’s CH-53K King Stallion helicopter as well as Sikorsky’s S-97 Raider helicopter.

Investments like these mean more good-paying, local jobs, and it will help Consolidated Industries continue to compete in the global supply chain for the world’s top aerospace and defense companies.”

Founded in 1948, Consolidated Industries employs 90 employees in its Cheshire facility. The company has grown over the years and has recently made new investments in its facility. Just this month, Consolidated Industries unveiled its new Hydraulic Hammer Shop. The new system will reduce the company’s natural gas usage by 80 percent as well as save hundreds of thousands of gallons of water each year. Consolidated Industries also partners locally with schools like Naugatuck Valley Community College to help train and eventually hire manufacturing and engineering students.
