Cheshire Council Vice Chairman Pulls Out of Election Race

The Republicans have nominated a new candidate to run in the November election.

Republican Town Council Vice Chairman David Schrumm will not run for the first district council seat he was endorsed for in the November election, according to the Meriden Record Journal.

The Record-Journal reports the Republicans unanimously nominated Planning and Zoning Commission member S. Woody Dawson to run in Schrumm’s place on Thursday night.

Schrumm, currently the council’s budget committee chairman, served on the council for 20 years, according to the Record-Journal.
