The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
School modernization is the biggest issue facing the residents of Cheshire. I will continue to support the plan that provides our town with what we need, and does so in the most fiscally responsible manner while still providing flexibility for the future. As a town, we have failed to properly invest in our school facilities over the last 50 years and there is a course-correction necessary; with interest rates as low as they are currently, the time is now. However, no plan will move forward without a successful referendum, which hinges on limiting the bottom-line tax impact to our residents and preserving the town's AAA bond rating.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
While I have never run for public office, I am motivated by the current political climate to make our town better. I have a young family but firm roots in Cheshire, which makes me vested in the success of our town’s future and committed to preserving the rural charm of our past.
Accomplishments:
As a Professional Engineer, I work every day to find simple solutions to complex problems. As a Town Councilor, I will take the same analytical, deliberate and results-oriented approach to address the challenges facing the Town of Cheshire.
Other issues:
I aim to bring civility back to local politics through active listening, compromise that results in action, and common sense solutions to common problems.
I believe in investing in our infrastructure through actionable ideas related to traffic congestion, crosswalks, sidewalks, trails and areas of passive recreation.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
Voters should know that I am moderate in ideology and represent a group of residents in the middle that both thinks and acts rationally – I am able to hear both sides and make educated decisions that rely on facts and not favor.
