The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

When one has the responsibility to lead and manage a community, it is difficult to define one issue as being most important. While School Modernization is most pressing at this moment, every aspect of community governance must be considered carefully and be given equal importance.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I will bring 36 years of business leadership and financial oversight to our budget process. I will focus on making choices that enhance the quality of life in our community while minimizing the financial impact to our residents.

I will utilize my extensive experience on numerous school facilities planning and construction projects throughout Connecticut to insure an efficient and cost effective school modernization process.

Accomplishments:

As co-founder and President of Milone & MacBroom, Inc. I have led and managed the development of one of New England's most well-respected Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Planning and Environmental Consulting firms.

Merging into SLR International Corporation, a global consultancy, in 2021, we currently employ over 125 individuals right here in Cheshire, with about 430 employees nationally.

I currently serve as U.S. Sector Leader - Built Environment, and oversee the U.S. Mergers and Acquisitions team and chair our U.S. Culture and Diversity Committee.

Other issues:

I will maintain a focus on Public Safety, Fiscal Responsibility, Quality Schools and Economic Growth.

We will need to have a sustained, comprehensive and cost-effective plan to bring all our schools up to appropriate standards. This process needs to be managed properly and carefully so we provide our residents the most value for this substantial investment, we will need enhanced economic development and its associated revenue to help offset the anticipated investments in our school facilities.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

I am a 35-year resident who has always given back to the community, through extensive pro bono design and engineering work, contributing to a range of community organizations and initiatives and serving on various boards and agencies, including former Board President of Family Services of Greater Waterbury.

Recipient of the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce Sheldon Dill Community Service Award in 2000.
