The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
For me, the most pressing issue is electing leaders that focus on local issues that affect OUR community…not politics and not a national agenda. I learned last year how much of an impact the decisions our elected officials make could have on our everyday lives. I feel the political rhetoric on the national stage has made its way into local communities and caused a division that I find to be really unfortunate. We must work together as a team to make decisions that positively impact everyone that lives and works here. Obviously the Town Budget impacts Education, how we respond to Public Safety issues, and Infrastructure and Economic Development...those are all pressing issues. But what I intend to do is to work alongside the rest of the Town Council in collaboration with the leadership of our town to ensure we are serving our community as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I am here to represent my constituents, not my personal agenda. My views are to work together with the entire council, represent our community and come together to keep our town running efficiently and safely. My political aspirations stop here, in Cheshire.
Accomplishments:
My past life experiences will lend balance to the council as a Career Counselor and group facilitator. My entire career has encompassed building relationships and I have been a lifelong learner pursuing advanced education and multiple certifications within my industry. I am a mom, a small business owner and a law enforcement wife. I have had to make sacrifices throughout my career for others and I am no stranger to hard work. For the past 20 years, I have dedicated countless hours to volunteering within my community, continuing my education and providing an invaluable service to others seeking support within the world of career development and exploration. I began my career in Marketing, Sales, Corporate Training and Staffing for Fortune 500 companies, gaining valuable experience and an understanding of a variety of industries. My experience influenced my decision to pursue a formal education in Counseling to focus my expertise in Career Counseling. I am a communicator and my specialized skills include counseling, coaching and training, leadership development and group facilitation. Graduating with a degree in Business and Finance and years later, pursuing a Masters Degree in Counseling, I am trained to work with others and prepared to serve our community.
Other issues:
Supporting those keeping our town safe and running efficiently, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and modernizing and improving our schools and attracting and keeping new business to the community
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I wanted to volunteer my time to help bring our community together with positivity through listening and flexibility of others perspectives.
